Telematics and Communications

Telematics is arguably among the most technically challenging areas of automotive applications, primarily because development of telematics components require very solid system engineering skills covering wide range of topics from image recognition to wireless protocols. Its importance is difficult to underestimate for it is closely related to safety and security of a vehicle and its passengers. Our engineering team has been involved in development of a number of telematics systems currently used in many models of cars designed by leading automotive manufacturers.

Main Focus Areas

  • Safety systems (emergency and service calling, crash sensors, black boxes, stolen vehicles monitoring)
  • Cellular technologies and devices integration (NADs, cellphones)
  • Bluetooth, WiFi and ZigBee integration
  • TCP/IP gateway functionality over various carriers: cellular, WiFi, WiMax
  • Car-to-car communication (direct and over the internet connection)
  • Over-the-air vehicle control and monitoring
  • Vehiche/fleet tracking, routing and control
  • Mesh-oriented networking
